The two amazing ladies Brandy (from Fresh Sugar Photography) and Danna (from Bowes Photography) have joined forces and are offering a seat for their mentoring expertise with TwoPhotogs starting in January. Obviously, I was THRILLED when I saw this, as it would be a dream to win it. But, here’s the catch. You don’t just enter your name into the comments and hope you win. You have to take a self portrait indulging in a guilty pleasure. Of course the things that come to mind when you think of “guilty pleasure” would be chocolate, donuts, coffee, trashy gossip magazines, chick flicks, and the Twilight series (more like obsession for me). But, I wanted to think of something unique, something not so obvious.
Then I remembered the BOX of clothes I have for Lucy (our sweet puppy). Ryan thinks I’m nuts every time I come home with an outfit for her. She owns everything from a banana to a rooster to a stylish puffy vest. I know I’m not the only one that totally indulges in this guilty pleasure, as it’s so easy to walk into Petco or Target and say “ohhh emmm geeee it’s a black leather vest for *insert dog’s name here* to wear while riding on the motorcycle with us!!” Right?!! Okay, maybe it is just us. Regardless of whether I win the giveaway or not, it was a really fun reason for me to get some photos of Lucy and finally post pictures of her on the blog!
This was extremely hard to do, as you had to do a self portrait (had to pull out the tripod and do a self timer, I found out too late that I could’ve employed help). #1 I had a dog that wouldn’t cooperate (who would if they kept on being forced to wear reindeer ears). She also thought it would be fun to try and eat the outfits I would lay out for the photos (this assignment literally took hours because of my nutso dog). #2 I also had to try and get an in focus shot which is hard to do when the subject has to jump in the photo after pushing the shutter button. Here’s what I came up with! Leave me some love, as I find this to be slightly embarrassing.
